Phil Recognised for Outstanding Service to the Retail Orphan Initiative
On the 10th anniversary of The Retail Orphan Initiative Super Saturday Conference held at PricewaterhouseCooper in New York, Phil Leahy was presented a “bobblehead’ Award. The award was for outstanding service to the organisation and noting Retail Global’s fundraising activities, launching Retail ROI as an official charity in Australia and taking part in missions to help on the ground in Haiti.
Phil Leahy said “This is a great honor to win this award for playing a small role in an outstanding organisation that has helped so many orphans and vulnerable children around the world. The true champions are the people that serve on the ground in places like the Congo, Honduras and Haiti. This award is in honor of their selfless commitment and dedication to helping people in desperate need”.
Although Phil, Retail Global and the Australian eCommerce community have raised over $370,000.00 for the Retail Orphan Initiative over the past 5 years, the job is not done, we need to do more. The Charity Gala Dinner, held during Retail Global (29-31 May, 2019) on the Gold Coast, will again look to raise much needed funds for the initiative through a series of Live and Silent Auctions. We invite all to join us for this special evening (get your ticket here) and if you have something you would like to donate to the auction please let Luke Rowohlt know.
And for those looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Phil will be returning to Haiti at the end of February this year to lead a delegation of retail executives from America, Canada and Australia to help on the ground and offer support to the volunteers who do the heavy lifting
